Regular Season Round 24: Darussafaka - Istanbul BBSK 79-77

Ninth-ranked Istanbul BBSK (10-14) was very close to win a game against sixth ranked Darussafaka (15-9) on Friday. Darussafaka managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected easier game. The winners were led by American guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, college: Florida) who scored that evening 22 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Darussafaka's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 10 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists by Slovenian Jaka Klobucar (198-87) did not help to save the game for Istanbul BBSK. American center Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee Services) added 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Istanbul BBSK players scored in double figures. Darussafaka moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Banvit BK. Loser Istanbul BBSK keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Galatasaray. Darussafaka will meet Demir IBB (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul BBSK will play against Banvit (#5) and hope to secure a win.
