We should mention about the upset which took place in Ankara, where higher ranked Cankaya (17-12) lost at home to sixteenth ranked Fenerbahce G. (6-21) 79-88 on Friday. Fenerbahce G. shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International guard Pelin Bilgic (175-94, agency: Fly Basketball) had a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international center Tilbe Senyurek (190-95) chipped in 31 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Vicki Baugh (193-89, college: Tennessee) with 22 points and 5 rebounds and center Kubra Dicle (187-92, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four Cankaya players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce G. moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Yalova Vip. Loser Cankaya dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. Fenerbahce G. will meet at home higher ranked Edirne (#12) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cankaya will play against Urla BLD (#7) in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
