Regular Season Round 27: BSW Sixers - Aschersleben 71-80

Top ranked Sixers (21-2) recorded its second loss in Sandersdorf on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Aschersleben (15-8) 80-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sixers. Aschersleben looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Sixers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Croatian Robert Kujundzic (202-94) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Power forward Sebastian Harke (204-81) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Aschersleben players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Terrence Williams (198-93, college: Charlotte) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and Lithuanian Eimantas Stankevicius (190-98, agency: Octagon Europe) added 26 points and 6 rebounds (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aschersleben moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Vechta II. Sixers at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Aschersleben is looking forward to face Goetting.ASC (#7) in Goettingen in the next round. Sixers will play on the road against Bergedorf (#10) in Hamburg and are hoping to win this game.
