Regular Season Round 26: Neptunas - P.Zvaigzdes 90-71

Rather predictable result in Klaipeda where third ranked Neptunas (22-7) smashed 5th ranked P.Zvaigzdes (11-18) 90-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. P.Zvaigzdes managed to win fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) who scored 21 points. Point guard Laurynas Beliauskas (192-97, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 13 points. Osvaldas Olisevicius (200-93) produced 15 points and Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (203-92) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Neptunas maintains third position with 22-7 record having just three points less than leader Zalgiris. Loser P.Zvaigzdes dropped to the sixth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Juventus. Neptunas will meet league's leader Zalgiris in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. P.Zvaigzdes will play against Siauliai (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
