There was no surprise when 18th ranked Samsun (6-25) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Bakirkoy (15-16) 98-89. They made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Samsun only scored six points from the stripe. Bakirkoy players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Samsun helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Manny Atkins (201-91, college: Georgia St.) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian guard Marek Klassen (185-92, college: Point Loma) accounted for 17 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. American guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas, agency: Interperformances) came up with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Mikael Hopkins (206-93, college: Georgetown) added 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Samsun in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bakirkoy moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Istanbulspor. Samsun at the other side stay dead last with 25 lost games. Bakirkoy's next round opponent will be Duzce Belediye (#13) at home. Samsun will play against Karesi Spor (#12) and hope to win that game.
