There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (6-22) defeated on the road 15th ranked BG Goettingen (7-19) 88-75 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Belgian-Nigerian guard Retin Obasohan (185-93, college: Alabama) who helped to win the game recording 24 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American-Ukrainian point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) who added 20 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Oettinger Rockets Gotha players scored in double figures. At the losing side Australian swingman Mitch Creek (195-92) responded with 16 points and 5 assists and American point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT) scored 12 points and 7 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Oettinger Rockets Gotha maintains seventeenth position with 6-22 record. Loser BG Goettingen keeps the fifteenth place with 19 games lost. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will face higher ranked BBC Bayreuth (#5) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
