Regular Season Round 27: Weser Bsk/BTS - Vechta II 58-90

Date: April 7, 2018
Very expected game in Neustadt where 12th ranked Weser Bsk/BTS (3-20) was rolled over by third ranked Vechta-2 (15-8) 90-58 on Saturday. Vechta-2 forced 25 Weser Bsk/BTS turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Robert Crawford (201-90, college: Cent.Arkansas) who scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Tim Insinger (205-97) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Vechta-2 players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Ismar Kriese (201-94) who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jonas Liermann (197-87) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Vechta-2. They maintain third place in North with 15-8 record having eight points less than leader Muenster, which they share with Aschersleben. Weser Bsk/BTS lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 20 games lost. Vechta-2 will face WSG Koenigs (#8) in Wildau in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Weser Bsk/BTS will play on the road against Rendsburg (#6) and hope to win that game.
