We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 15th ranked Ankara D.S.I. (9-22) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Yalova Bld (9-22) 84-75. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Markel Starks (188-91, college: Georgetown) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Five Yalova Bld players scored in double figures. The former international center Mutlu Demir (210-87) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay) added 22 points and 5 assists respectively for Ankara D.S.I. in the defeat.
