Second Stage Round 6: Helios - Sencur Gor. 87-84

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Liga Nova KBM took place in Domzale. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Sencur Gor. (2-4) to seventh ranked Helios (2-4) 87-84 on Saturday evening. Sencur Gor. cut a 15-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Helios looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for guard Jure Pelko (190-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. The former international point guard Jure Mocnik (183-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists for the winners. Five Helios players scored in double figures. The former international forward Dino Muric (200-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Smiljan Pavic (210-80) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sencur Gor.Sencur Gor.'s coach Radomir Mijanovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Helios maintains seventh position in Nova KBM with 2-4 record. Helios are looking forward to face higher ranked Ilirija (#6) in Ljubljana in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sencur Gor. will play at home against the league's leader Olimpija where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
