Second Stage Round 7: Bosna-Royal - Kakanj 78-67

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kakanj (3-2) against sixth ranked Bosna-Royal (2-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Kakanj was defeated by Bosna-Royal in Sarajevo 78-67. It looked good early as Kakanj took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bosna-Royal had a 20-12 second period charge getting the lead and Kakanj was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-78. Bosna-Royal dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Kakanj's 22. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Eric Washington (182-93, college: Miami, OH, agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Montenegrin center Maksim Sturanovic (210-88, agency: 011 Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Bosna-Royal players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) answered with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian power forward Milivoje Bozovic (210-85, agency: BeoExcell) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kakanj. Bosna-Royal maintains sixth place in I with 2-3 record. Kakanj at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Bosna-Royal will play against league's leader Sloboda Tuzla at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kakanj will play against Igokea in Aleksandrovac and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
