UMMC cruised past Enisey in the opener. UMMC Ekaterinburg made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game, while Enisey Krasnoyarsk only scored three points from the stripe. UMMC Ekaterinburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) fired 40 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Her fellow American import center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) chipped in 28 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!). Swingman Ekaterina Kiryanova (180-90) produced 14 points and 4 assists and point guard Marina Riavkina (169-93) added 9 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Enisey Krasnoyarsk players scored in double figures. Enisey Krasnoyarsk's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
