Regular Season Round 30: Gmunden - Wels 86-71

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Gmunden. Third ranked Gmunden Swans faced 4th ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels. Host Gmunden Swans (21-8) defeated guests from Wels (15-14) 86-71. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a great shooting night for Gmunden Swans especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a good game for the former international point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 9 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). International forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. The former international Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Tyler Hines (198-90, college: Md-E Shore) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Raiffeisen Flyers Wels. Gmunden Swans moved-up to second place, which they share with Arkadia. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels at the other side keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. Gmunden Swans will play against league's leader Kapfenberg Bulls at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will play against Furstenfeld Panthers and hope to get back on the winning track.
