Second Stage Round 8: Zrinjski HT - Kakanj 110-79

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Zrinjski HT as it allowed them to take a leadership position in I. Zrinjski HT smashed 4th ranked Kakanj in Mostar 110-79. Zrinjski HT shot 61.1 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Kakanj turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian guard Aleksandar Sokolovic (193-93) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and American guard Toure Murry (196-89, college: Wichita St.) who added 23 points and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. Four Zrinjski HT players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) responded with 31 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian swingman Adam Mirkovic (199-91) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Kakanj at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Kakanj will play next round against strong Sloboda Tuzla trying to get back on the winning streak. Zrinjski HT will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Igokea at Aleksandrovac.
