Regular Season Round 27: Nevezis - Vytautas 79-96

Bottom-ranked Vytautas managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the series of six consecutive losses. This time they won against ninth-ranked Nevezis in Kedainiai 96-79. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 17-point difference proves that Vytautas was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Vytautas. Nevezis was better in third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vytautas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 30. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international forward Eigirdas Zukauskas (205-92) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 7 assists. Forward Justas Sinica (203-85) accounted for 15 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. International swingman Tadas Sedekerskis (203-98) came up with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American guard James Woodard (191-94, college: Tulsa) added 20 points respectively for Nevezis in the defeat. Nevezis' coach Ramunas Cvirka rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Vytautas maintains tenth place with 6-24 record. Nevezis at the other side keeps the ninth position with 23 games lost. Vytautas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Dzukija (#8) in Alytus and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
