There was no surprise in Oliveira where 6th ranked Illiabum (12-15) was defeated by second ranked Oliveirense (23-5) 93-77 on Friday. Oliveirense dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Illiabum's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Arnette Hallman (200-88) who scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American Quintrell Thomas (203-90, college: UNLV) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Jeff Early (190-88, college: S.Illinois) produced 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian guard Filip Simic (185-90) added 10 points and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Five Oliveirense and four Illiabum players scored in double figures. Oliveirense maintains second place in Places 1-6 with 23-5 record behind leader Benfica. Loser Illiabum keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
