Second Stage Round 10: Domzale - Triglav 32-104
Date: April 13, 2018
Bottom-ranked Domzale (0-24) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 24th consecutive match to second ranked Triglav (20-4) 104-32. The game without a history. Triglav led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Domzale to just 6 points in third quarter. Triglav dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Domzale's 14 and had 22 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Domzale only scored six points from the stripe. Triglav forced 25 Domzale turnovers and outrebounded them 40-20 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Domzale's players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Urska Zibert (174-93) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Rebeka Abramovic (172-93) contributed with 23 points, 8 assists and 6 steals (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners. Five Triglav players scored in double figures. Forward Vanja Tajher (178-95) replied with 7 points and 5 rebounds and guard Blazka Hribar (174-98) added 5 points in the effort for Domzale. Triglav have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-4 record having four points less than leader Celje. Domzale at the other side still closes the standings. Triglav's next round opponent will be Jezica (#7) in Ljubljana where they are favorite. Domzale will play on the road against Maribor and hopes to get finally their first victory.
