Regular Season Round 32: Turk Telekom - Antalyaspor 73-80

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Turk Telekom (28-4) in Ankara on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Antalyaspor (21-11) 80-73. Antalyaspor dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 26. They outrebounded Turk Telekom 38-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. American point guard Robert Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. The other American import forward CJ Leslie (206-91, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Antalyaspor players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Kaya Peker (207-80, agency: Court Side) replied with 25 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Ender Arslan (190-83) added 20 points and 6 assists in the effort for Turk Telekom. Turk Telekom's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Antalyaspor moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Selcuklu. Turk Telekom at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Antalyaspor is looking forward to face Ankara D.S.I. (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Turk Telekom's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ankara to the arena TED Kolejliler.
