Second Stage Round 8: Sezana - Hopsi Polzela 72-83

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Sezana (1-5) was defeated at home by top-ranked Hopsi Polzela (7-0) 83-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Hopsi Polzela. Sezana was better in third quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hopsi Polzela looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian-Bosnian Dejan Cup (202-83, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Uros Godler (205-85) chipped in 13 points. Five Hopsi Polzela players scored in double figures. Guard Dejan Milasinovic (182-89) produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Luka Grum (194-92) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Sezana's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hopsi Polzela maintains ninth position in Nova KBM with 7-0 record. Loser Sezana dropped to the thirteenth place with five games lost. Hopsi Polzela will face Terme Olimia (#11) in Podcetrtek in the next round. Sezana will play on the road against LTH Castings in Skofja Loka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
