Thirteenth-ranked Istanbul Uni (3-21) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Cukurova (14-10) in Mersin. Cukurova managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Cukurova had a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) saved the victory by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Ukrainian Liudmyla Naumenko (188-93, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 8 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Cukurova's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Nigerian-American center Aisha Mohammed (191-85, college: Virginia) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA) added 23 points and 4 steals in the effort for Istanbul Uni. Newly promoted Cukurova maintains fifth position with 14-10 record. Istanbul Uni at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with 21 games lost. They share the position with Adana ASKI.
