The game in Izmir was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Cankaya (17-13) played at the court of seventh ranked Urla BLD (17-11). Urla BLD did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 74-57 on Sunday. Urla BLD dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Cankaya's 24. Urla BLD forced 23 Cankaya turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for forward Ayse Akinci (175-82, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals. American power forward Vicki Baugh (193-89, college: Tennessee) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Ilayda Tokmak (170-93) added 6 points and 7 assists respectively for Cankaya in the defeat. Urla BLD moved-up to sixth place. Loser Cankaya dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost. Urla BLD will meet Edirne (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cankaya will play against Mersin Gelisim (#15) and hope to secure a win.
