An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Wels. Third ranked Arkadia Lions faced 4th ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels. Guests from Traiskirchen (21-8) smashed host Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (15-14) 103-61. The game without a history. Arkadia Lions led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Raiffeisen Flyers Wels' 30. They outrebounded Raiffeisen Flyers Wels 39-28 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Arkadia Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Benedikt Danek (176-86) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 assists. American swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) chipped in 23 points. Five Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Montenegrin center Milovan Draskovic (211-95, agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Siyani Chambers (183-93, college: Harvard) added 14 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Arkadia Lions have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Gmunden. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels at the other side keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. Arkadia Lions is looking forward to face bottom-ranked UBSC Graz (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will play against Furstenfeld Panthers (#8) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
