Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Phoenix Galati (16-12) smashed on the road 11th ranked Politehnica Iasi (6-23) 121-82 on Sunday. The game without a history. Phoenix Galati led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Politehnica Iasi's 48. They outrebounded Politehnica Iasi 49-15 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Phoenix Galati looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Politehnica Iasi's players. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was power forward Tony Gugino (207-86, college: Hillsdale) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Tayloe Taylor (191-86, college: Livingstone) who recorded 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Jalen Jackson (198-94, college: UALR) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Phoenix Galati maintains eighth position in Nationala with 16-12 record. Newly promoted Politehnica Iasi keeps the eleventh place with 23 games lost.
