Regular Season Round 32: Selcuklu - Istanbulspor 73-76

Date: April 15, 2018
A very close game took place in Selcuk between Istanbulspor and Selcuklu. Tenth ranked Istanbulspor (16-16) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Selcuklu (21-11). Istanbulspor managed to escape with a 3-point win 76-73 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Istanbulspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado, agency: KMG Sports Management) who scored that evening 18 points and 7 assists and the other American import forward Tyler Smith (200-86, college: Tennessee) supported him with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Four Istanbulspor players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds by American forward Will Daniels (202-86, college: Rhode Island) did not help to save the game for Selcuklu. Croatian swingman Fran Pilepic (193-89) added 18 points for the hosts. Istanbulspor moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Orman Genclik and Bakirkoy. Selcuklu lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Antalyaspor. Istanbulspor will meet at home league's second-placed Bursaspor in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Selcuklu will play against Bandirma Kir. in Balikesir and hope to secure a win.
