The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Ovarense's (12-15) road victory over 10th ranked Terceira (9-15) 74-69 on Monday. Ovarense made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Will Perry (180-94, college: Lenoir-Rhyne) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Forward Joao Grosso (196-94) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Ovarense's coach Nuno Manarte used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Joao Torrie (200-91) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Marcus Van (201-87, college: Cent.Michigan) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ovarense moved-up to eighth place in Places 7-12. Newly promoted Terceira keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Ovarense will face higher ranked Galitos-Barreiro (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Terceira will play against Barreirense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
