Very expected game when 11th ranked Politehnica Iasi (6-24) was rolled over at home by seventh ranked Craiova (17-12) 117-89 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Craiova led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Politehnica Iasi's 46. They outrebounded Politehnica Iasi 36-18 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Craiova shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Croatian swingman Ivan Siriscevic (198-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) fired 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Jamar Samuels (200-89, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Craiova players scored in double figures. American guard Tayloe Taylor (191-86, college: Livingstone) produced 41 points (!!!) and the other American import swingman Jalen Jackson (198-94, college: UALR) added 26 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Craiova maintains seventh place in Nationala with 17-12 record. Newly promoted Politehnica Iasi keeps the eleventh position with 24 games lost. Craiova will have a break next round. Politehnica Iasi will play at home against Timba Timosoara (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
