Regular Season Round 33: Orman Genclik - Afyon 80-87

There was no surprise in Ankara where 10th ranked Orman Genclik (16-17) was defeated by third ranked Afyon Bld (24-9) 87-80 on Friday. The former international power forward Cevher Ozer (206-83, agency: 1x1 Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Georgian-American point guard Jacob Pullen (184-89, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was Caner Ercan (205-86) with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Afyon Bld. They maintain third place with 24-9 record having five points less than leader Turk Telekom. Orman Genclik lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 17 games lost. Afyon Bld will face Ankara D.S.I. (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Orman Genclik will play against Bakirkoy (#9) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
