Regular Season Round 31: Kapfenberg - Wels 87-79

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (25-6) defeated at home 5th ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (16-15) 87-79 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Kapfenberg Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Raiffeisen Flyers Wels' 38. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Serbian point guard Bogic Vujosevic (190-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 assists. American guard Kareem Jamar (194-92, college: Montana) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) answered with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and international swingman Carlos Novas-Mateo (198-92) added 17 points in the effort for Raiffeisen Flyers Wels. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kapfenberg Bulls have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 25-6 record. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost. Kapfenberg Bulls will face league's second-placed Arkadia Lions in Traiskirchen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will play on the road against Dukes in Klosterneuburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
