Regular Season Round 30: Ludwigsburg - Braunschweig 72-59
Date: April 20, 2018
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Braunschweig (13-17) lost on the road to third ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (22-7) 72-59 on Friday. EnBW Ludwigsburg forced 21 Braunschweig turnovers. American forward Elgin Cook (198-93, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) notched 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import swingman Thomas Walkup (193-92, college: SF Austin) supported him with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Even 17 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Anthony Morse (206-94, college: Tenn Tech, agency: Two Points) did not help to save the game for Braunschweig. Austrian point guard Thomas Klepeisz (186-91) added 9 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. EnBW Ludwigsburg maintains third position with 22-7 record having six points less than leader B.Muenchen. Braunschweig at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 17 games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg will meet ratiopharm Ulm (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Braunschweig will play against the league's second-placed ALBA Berlin and hope to secure a win.
