Very expected game when 9th ranked Mersin Uni (13-16) was defeated on the road by third ranked Mersin MBK (21-8) 63-54 on Saturday. Mersin MBK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-FYR Macedonian forward Ashley Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and forward Asli Sevinc (178-79, agency: Fly Basketball) who added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Mersin MBK's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Nazli Guler (184-82, agency: 1x1 Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Polish forward Julia Demirer (187-81, college: Emmanuel, MA) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Mersin MBK maintains third position with 21-8 record having four points less than leader Orduspor. Loser Mersin Uni keeps the ninth place with 16 games lost.
