The game between closely ranked teams ended with 12th ranked Estoril Basket's (10-16) road loss to eleventh ranked Vasco (12-14) 62-67 on Saturday. Vasco forced 19 Estoril Basket turnovers. Strangely Estoril Basket outrebounded Vasco 43-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Point guard Miguel Toreia (180-93) fired 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Fabio Bem (188-85) chipped in 16 points. Vasco's coach Manuel Romao used entire bench in such tough game. Forward Alexey Kaputskiy (192-93) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and power forward Miguel Bastos (-99) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Vasco maintains eleventh place in Places 9-16 with 12-14 record. Estoril Basket lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Vasco will face higher ranked Academica (#10) in Coimbra in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Estoril Basket will play at home against Angrabasket (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
