Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Ankara D.S.I. (10-23) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Antalyaspor (22-11) 86-78 on Saturday. Antalyaspor outrebounded Ankara D.S.I. 43-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Robert Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) stepped up and scored 16 points and 9 assists for the winners and point guard Emir Gokalp (185-95) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Five Antalyaspor players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay) with 32 points and 4 assists and the former international center Mutlu Demir (210-87) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Ankara D.S.I.'s coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Antalyaspor. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Selcuklu. Loser Ankara D.S.I. keeps the fifteenth position with 23 games lost. Antalyaspor will face TED Kolejliler (#17) in Ankara in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ankara D.S.I. will play on the road against Afyon Bld in Afyonkarahisar and hope to win that game.
