An interesting game took place in Yalova where higher ranked Bakirkoy (16-17) was upset on the court of seventeenth ranked Yalova Bld (10-23) 95-88 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bakirkoy. Yalova Bld looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Bakirkoy's players. American guard Markel Starks (188-91, college: Georgetown) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 16 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and forward Muratcan Esen (195-90) chipped in 18 points. The best for the losing side was power forward Adem Oren (207-79) with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian guard Marek Klassen (185-92, college: Point Loma) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Yalova Bld moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Ankara DSI. Loser Bakirkoy dropped to the eighth position with 17 games lost. Yalova Bld will face higher ranked Karesi Spor (#12) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
