Second Stage Round 8: Steaua CSM - BC Timisoara 84-81

Fifth-ranked BC Timisoara (18-13) was very close to win a game against second ranked Steaua CSM (22-9) in Bucuresti. Steaua CSM managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts were ahead by 14 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 27-22 run, which allowed them to win the game. BC Timisoara was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-94, college: Utah) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the other American import power forward Randal Falker (201-85, college: S.Illinois) who added 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Cuban-American center Adrian Diaz (213-93, college: FIU) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Serbian guard Mladen Jeremic (198-88, agency: 011 Sports) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Steaua CSM maintains second position in Nationala with 22-9 record having just two points less than leader CSU Sibiu. BC Timisoara at the other side keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost. Steaua CSM will play against Pitesti (#6) on the road in the next round. BC Timisoara will play against the league's leader CSU Sibiu and hopes to get back on the winning track.
