Regular Season Round 31: Bayreuth - Bremerhaven 84-74

Date: April 22, 2018
Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked BBC Bayreuth (21-11) beat at home 16th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (6-24) 84-74 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Egyptian forward Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. American Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) helped adding 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Linhart is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Jordan Hulls (180-90, college: Indiana) responded with 22 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and the other American import center Geoffrey Groselle (212-93, college: Creighton) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for BBC Bayreuth. They maintain fourth place with 21-11 record. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with 24 games lost. BBC Bayreuth will face Mitteldeutscher BC (#14) in Weissenfels in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play at home against ratiopharm Ulm and hope to win that game.
