We should mention about the upset which took place in Istanbul, where higher ranked Besiktas (17-9) lost to ninth ranked Galatasaray (11-15) in a road game 73-77. Galatasaray made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. American-FYR Macedonian center Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. American-Bosnian point guard Alex Renfroe (191-86, college: Belmont, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American-Cameroonian DJ Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) replied with 24 points and American guard Josh Adams (188-93, college: Wyoming) added 21 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Besiktas. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Galatasaray maintains ninth position with 11-15 record. Besiktas at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Banvit BK. Galatasaray will play against higher ranked Sakarya BSB (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Besiktas will play against Pinar Karsiyaka (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
