Very important is a road loss of third ranked UBT Cluj Napoca (22-10) against fourth ranked Oradea (22-10) on Wednesday night. Visiting UBT Cluj Napoca was defeated by Oradea in a tough game in Oradea 78-82. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Oradea especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. American guard Kris Richard (196-89, college: Tulane, agency: KMG Sports Management) nailed 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Lithuanian point guard Vaidas Kariniauskas (197-93) accounted for 19 points. Richard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Croatian forward Zeljko Sakic (204-88, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American-Liberian guard Lasan Kromah (198-91, college: Connecticut) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for UBT Cluj Napoca in the defeat. Four UBT Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. UBT Cluj Napoca's coach Mihai Silvasan rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Oradea maintains fourth place in Nationala with 22-10 record. Oradea will meet league's second-placed Steaua CSM in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UBT Cluj Napoca will play against the league's leader CSU Sibiu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
