Rather expected game in Kranj where 8th ranked Tajfun (2-9) was defeated by sixth ranked Sencur Gor. (5-6) 80-76 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 29-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Sencur Gor. outrebounded Tajfun 34-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Tajfun was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Bosnian forward Ramo Rizvic (200-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international forward Dino Muric (200-90) helped adding 6 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Sencur Gor.'s coach Radomir Mijanovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Corey Allen (185-92, college: S.Florida) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and international center Tomaz Bolcina (208-94, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sencur Gor. maintains sixth place in Nova KBM with 5-6 record. Loser Tajfun keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Sencur Gor. will face higher ranked Krka (#4) in Novo Mesto in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tajfun will play at home against Ilirija (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
