Regular Season Round 32: Brose Bask. - Oettinger R. 85-80

Date: April 27, 2018
There was no surprise in Bamberg where 16th ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (7-25) was defeated by seventh ranked Brose Baskets (19-12) 85-80. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Brose Baskets made 28-of-33 charity shots (84.8 percent) during the game. Oettinger Rockets Gotha was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Italian guard Daniel Hackett (199-87, college: USC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American Augustine Rubit (201-89, college: S.Alabama) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American-Ukrainian point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) replied with 17 points and 7 assists and international Andreas Obst (191-96, agency: BeoBasket) added 19 points in the effort for Oettinger Rockets Gotha. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 19-12 record. Newly promoted Oettinger Rockets Gotha keeps the sixteenth place with 25 games lost. Brose Baskets will play against Braunschweig (#12) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will play against Telekom Baskets (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
