Regular Season Round 32: Vytautas - Neptunas 76-89

Very expected game in Prienai where 10th ranked Vytautas (8-26) was defeated by third ranked Neptunas (24-11) 89-76. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Neptunas outrebounded Vytautas 41-27 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The winners were led by guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Simas Galdikas (203-87) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by international forward Eigirdas Zukauskas (205-92) did not help to save the game for Vytautas. International forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Five Vytautas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neptunas maintains third position with 24-11 record having five points less than leader Lietuvos rytas. Vytautas at the other side stay dead last with 26 lost games. Neptunas will play against Dzukija (#9) in Alytus in the next round where they are favorite. Vytautas will play on the road against P.Zvaigzdes in Pasvalys and hopes to get back on the winning track.
