Second Stage Round 12: Helios - Rogaska 73-71

Important game to mention about took place in Domzale. Fifth ranked Helios (6-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd ranked Rogaska (7-5) 73-71 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Rogaska. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Helios made 19-of-19 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. It was a good game for international forward Blaz Mahkovic (201-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) who led his team to a victory with 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international point guard Jure Mocnik (183-85) contributed with 7 points and 8 assists for the winners. International forward Mitja Nikolic-Smrdelj (200-91, agency: Players Group) replied with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Rashun Davis (180-93, college: Radford) added 12 points, 7 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Rogaska. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Helios maintains fifth position with 6-6 record. Rogaska at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Krka. Helios will play against Sencur Gor. (#6) in Kranj in the next round. Rogaska will play at home against the league's leader Olimpija and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
