Neuchatel topped Massagno in the opener. Neuchatel outrebounded Massagno 35-20 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Antonio Ballard (194-88, college: Miami, OH) nailed 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and the former international guard Brian Savoy (189-92) accounted for 12 points and 7 assists. Ballard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Neuchatel players scored in double figures. American center Kenny Frease (213-89, college: Xavier) came up with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import swingman Keon Moore (196-92, college: Winthrop, agency: Two Points) added 25 points and 4 assists respectively for Massagno in the defeat.
