No shocking result in a game in Pasvalys where sixth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (14-21) defeated bottom-ranked Vytautas (8-27) 79-73 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-20. But Vytautas won second period 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. P.Zvaigzdes made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Vytautas turnovers. Osvaldas Olisevicius (200-93) stepped up and scored 22 points for the winners and American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 11 points. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Rimantas Grigas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was international forward Eigirdas Zukauskas (205-92) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and international swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95, agency: Players Group) scored 18 points. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 14-21 record. Vytautas lost their third game in a row. They stay dead last with 27 lost games. P.Zvaigzdes will meet at home league's second-placed Zalgiris in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vytautas will play against the league's second-placed Zalgiris (#2) in Kaunas and hope to secure a win.
