There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Galitos-Barreiro (16-16) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Lusitania (15-16) 80-72. American-Jamaican guard Khalid Mutakabbir (193-91, college: Presbyterian) nailed 20 points and 5 assists for the winning side and American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) accounted for 12 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Dominique Lee (196-91, college: N.Colorado, agency: Blacktop Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Cedric Isom (188-84, college: E.Texas Baptist) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Galitos-Barreiro in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Lusitania. They maintain ninth place in Places 7-12 with 15-16 record. Galitos-Barreiro at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 16 games lost. Lusitania will play against higher ranked Ovarense (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Galitos-Barreiro will play against Terceira and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
