Regular Season Round 28: Galatasaray - Istanbul BBSK 99-77

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Galatasaray and 9th ranked Istanbul BBSK had identical 11-16 record. This time Galatasaray used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Istanbul 99-77 on Saturday night. Galatasaray outrebounded Istanbul BBSK 41-25 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Ege Arar (208-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and American-Congolese Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) who added 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Ryan Toolson (193-85, college: Utah Valley) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and Slovenian Jaka Klobucar (198-87) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Galatasaray and four Istanbul BBSK players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Galatasaray (12-16) moved-up to ninth place. Loser Istanbul BBSK dropped to the tenth position with 17 games lost. Galatasaray will face higher ranked Banvit (#5) in Balikesir in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Istanbul BBSK will play at home against Pinar Karsiyaka (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
