An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lisbona. Second ranked Benfica faced 4th ranked CAB Madeira. Host Benfica (26-6) defeated guests from Funchal (15-16) 95-91. Benfica made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international forward Carlos Andrade (197-78, college: Queens, NC) contributed with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Pitts is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Benfica's coach Jose Ricardo Rodrigues allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Lithuanian forward Arvydas Gydra (206-89, agency: Interperformances) replied with 24 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Fabio Lima (198-88) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for CAB Madeira. Four Benfica and five CAB Madeira players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second position in Places 1-6 with 26-6 record behind leader Oliveirense. CAB Madeira lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 16 games lost.
