Not a big story in a game in Buyukcekmece where 13th ranked Demir IBB (9-19) was defeated by second ranked Tofas (22-5) 93-76 on Sunday. Tofas shot 63.9 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Tofas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Demir IBB's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Tony Crocker (200-87, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 assists and swingman Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) who added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Tofas' coach Orhun Ene used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana) responded with 21 points and 5 steals and his fellow American import forward Diamon Simpson (204-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Tofas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 22-5 record having just two points less than leader Fenerbahce. Loser Demir IBB keeps the thirteenth place with 19 games lost. Tofas will face Trabzonspor (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Demir IBB will play against Usak Sportlif and hope to win that game.
