Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Demir IBB (10-19) outscored on the road bottom-ranked Usak Sportlif (5-24) 104-71 on Wednesday. Demir IBB dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Usak Sportlif's 34. They outrebounded Usak Sportlif 42-31 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Demir IBB looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Usak Sportlif's players. The former international Ilkan Karaman (205-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. Four Demir IBB players scored in double figures. American center Jackie Carmichael (206-90, college: Illinois St.) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and Tayfun Erulku (192-94) scored 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Demir IBB moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Trabzonspor. Usak Sportlif lost their fourth game in a row. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Demir IBB will meet at home higher ranked Besiktas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Usak Sportlif will play against Trabzonspor (#13) and hope to secure a win.
