Regular Season Round 34: Zalgiris - Vytautas 109-52

LKL top team - Zalgiris (32-4) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Vytautas (8-28) in Kaunas 109-52. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Vytautas' 24. They outrebounded Vytautas 54-23 including a 40-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zalgiris looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Vytautas' players. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. American Aaron White (206-92, college: Iowa) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Zalgiris' coach Sarunas Jasikevicius felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Paulius Ivanauskas (195-87) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for Vytautas. Zalgiris have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 32-4 record. Vytautas lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 28 lost games.
