Second Stage Round 8: Partizan NIS - Dynamic BG 87-71

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Beograd: Partizan (#2) and Dynamic BG (#3). Partizan (7-1) smashed visiting Dynamic BG (4-4) by 16 points 87-71. The game was mostly controlled by Partizan. Dynamic BG was better in second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Partizan won last quarter 25-10. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamic BG's 38. Partizan players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American guard Nigel Williams-Goss (191-94, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 assists. The other American import point guard Kwame Vaughn (190-90, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian power forward Aleksandar Todorovic (206-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Nemanja Krstic (203-93) added 11 points in the effort for Dynamic BG. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Partizan keeps a position of Group B leader, which they share with FMP. Dynamic BG at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Partizan will play against Vrsac (#4) on the road in the next round. Dynamic BG's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd FMP.
