Regular Season Round 1: Wolmirstedt - ALBA Berlin II 76-55

The biggest surprise of round 1 in Regionalliga took place in Wolmirstedt where host Wolmirstedt (1-0) crushed ALBA-2 (0-1) 76-55 on Saturday evening. Wolmirstedt dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to ALBA-2's 26. American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) fired 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Croatian power forward Dino Erceg (203-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Dutch forward Quinten Post (212-0) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and Erik Penteker (180-2) added 13 points respectively for lost side. ALBA-2's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. ALBA-2 will play next round against Cuxhaven trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Wolmirstedt will try to continue on its current victory against WSG Koenigs in Wildau.
